Young Adult author Leah Clifford is back with a brand new book that will get your blood pumping. You’ll remember Leah’s previous books A Touch Mortal, A Touch Morbid and A Touch Menacing and get ready because Vial Things will be available on August 9th on Amazon! Let’s catch up with her and see what’s coming and what she’s been doing.

Vial Things Synopsis

As an eighteen-year-old resurrectionist, Allie knows staying vigilant means staying alive. The blood of the resurrectionists is heavily regulated, only used with the express permission of the group’s leaders for fear of being discovered. She’s taken every precaution--self-defense classes since childhood, extensive weapons training with knives, and even going so far as to befriend a homeless boy named Ploy, who unknowingly trades a few nights a week on her couch in exchange for being a human tripwire to those after her blood.

But as Allie and Ploy’s feelings for each other grow, and a hunter starts taking out the resurrectionists of Fissure’s Whipp, Allie begins to realize even her best laid plans won’t be enough to keep both Ploy and herself safe.

Protecting a girl he shouldn’t love, from a threat he understands too well, Ploy must face his past to save his future in Allie’s world--a world where bringing back the dead can cost you your life.

1. Welcome back, Leah - tell us where the hell have you been and what have you been doing?

Thanks! Yeah, I definitely went off the map there for a bit, but I wanted to see where the monsters live. I brought some back with me and started selling my dead fairies and other art through my Petite Grotesque shop on Etsy. (http://www.petitegrotesque.etsy.com/). I wrote as well and have several projects inching toward completion. The first one to come out will be Vial Things, which is about a girl resurrectionist, and set in the New Orleans-esque town of Fissure's Whipp.

2. Vial Things sounds amazing, what inspired you to write it?

The book opens on Allie showing up at the house of a stranger demanding to know where the body is. She basically HBIC'd her way into my heart. Once Ploy (the hot homeless boy who occasionally crashes on her couch) started showing himself and I caught on to the dynamic between them, I had to know how their story ended. Would the hunters after Allie's blood find her? Would Allie and Ploy admit their growing feelings for one another or would their stubborn hearts undermine any chance they have at survival, let alone together. It's a dark, bloody book and I loved following the surprise twists and turns as I wrote it.

3. In 5 words or less, explain Vial Things.

Twisted hearts and strange genes.

4. What can we expect from you in the future?

Well, Vial Things will be available August 9th and I'm hoping to release the sequel in late September. I have big plans in store for you guys, and some well loved characters from past projects might be making a reappearance soon. ;) To read the first two chapters of Vial Things now and make sure you're getting all the updates on the new books, head over to my mailing list http://eepurl.com/b7xGj1
