Lost balloons. Melted ice cream. Babysitters.
Life as a kid can be pretty daunting. But don’t let these troubles get you down. With the right attitude, a hurdle can become a hammock and an obstacle can become an opportunity!
Veteran picture book creator Jarrett J. Krosoczka teaches kids to look on the bright side of things. With lively illustrations and spot-on humor, It’s Tough to Lose Your Balloon champions resilience and helps children navigate childhood indignities while making them laugh at the same time.

Do you remember childhood, when losing a balloon or scraping your knee was the worst thing that could happen? Those days were simpler, we never knew what was coming when we grew up and became the parents. Now, with my own kids as I look at them as they sob because they have dropped their second ice cream cone, (and I'm frustrated because, seriously, twice?!) I'm going to remember this book and the silver lining that all situations have.

This book was meant to teach kids not to be so sad when life happens, because it will. But honestly it really made me remember this more than anything. To them that ice cream cone was the world, and because they are my world I'm going to make sure to pull out more silver linings and less grumpy sighs from now on! Thanks Jarrett!
