Welcome to Children's Book Week!

Kicking off my Children's Book Week is one of 6's favorites so far. I'm pretty sure we read it 4 times, and then she talked her sister into reading it with her another 3 times.

Stay tuned all week for a new children's book review and maybe you'll find some new books to read to your little one over these summer months! Don't forget to check out the giveaway at the bottom of each days post for your chance to win 2 books of your choice!!

What This Story Needs Is A Pig In A Wig
Author: Emma J. Virjan
Release Date: May 12, 2015
Publisher: HarperCollins
Genre: Children's/Picture Book

What this story needsis a pigin a wigon a boatwith some friendshaving funin the sun—

So come on board! Join Pig on an exciting boat ride where she discovers that life is a lot more fun with more friends.

"Six" (so called right now for her age...her real name is Ellie) is my, I don't want to say reluctant reader, because she will try to read anything you put in front of her. She's just my "trying-really-hard-but-doesn't-yet-has-a-good-grasp-on-it" reader.

PIG IN A WIG was the PERFECT book for her, because she could read most of it herself. Now, you should know "Six" just turned six...like literally just. She's the youngest in her grade and wants so badly to do well. You should have seen the look on her face when she read this all by herself! You8 should have seen the look on mine!

Of her favorite parts were definitely the pig in the wig, which I have to admit I loved too. It's very "Marge Simpson-esque" and the silly Seuss-like rhyming that gave her the confidence to pick up more books to try on her own. "Six" also like the moral, and even commented on how the Pig would be alone when everyone left...she was thrilled when the Pig called them all back in the end.

Perfect for a reluctant or beginning reader! And fun for mom and dad too!
