Beautiful Oblivion
Maddox Brothers #1
Author: Jamie Freaking McGuire!!!
Release Date: Not Soon Enough (okay, July 1st 2014..still not soon enough)
Publisher: Atria – Publishers of ALL things AMAZING!
Rating: 5 PEACOCKS!

The Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.

Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.
As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

Such an amazing book deserves a unique manner in which I review it. That, and I have been sworn to protect any spoilers with my life…so while I really want to tell you that The Maddox Brothers are all a band of rogue lab-created werewolves and everyone dies at the end of this book – I can't. I promised I wouldn't, so stop asking me!! Okay..I'm totally kidding – at least one person survives…(seriously though, don't send hate mail to Jamie or Atria…that was a joke! There's NO werewolves I promise!)

Here's my REAL review, of the REAL book.

T
This first T is obviously for Trenton Maddox. Tattoo covered, cocky ass, giant freaking teddy bear, Trenton Maddox. He has all the Maddox qualities we love about Travis, that fierce loyalty, and inexplicable selective hearing that seems to always put them in the position to get them what they want, damn the consequences.

R
Is for The Red Door – the bar where Cami works slinging beers and razor sharp wit. Cami is tough and takes no crap, and actually has a lot of the same qualities that Trent does. The main one being a fierce loyalty to her family.  Maybe this fierce loyalty to her own family, and knowing Trent's loyalty to his it what forces her to push for a "friend only" relationship with him.  She is after all, the one person that could shatter the already broken Maddox family….

E

E is for Extraordinary writing.  I mean, it's Jamie Freaking McGuire, I know I don't have to really say this – you know that's what you will be getting when you crack open one of her books. But seriously, she out does herself in BEAUTIFUL OBLIVION. Right down to the very last word.

N

N is for Not to worry – meaning, yes Travis is in this book a bit too!

T

The second T is for Tattoos. Specifically the tattoo parlor that Trent works at, Skin Deep. The colorful small group of people you meet will be among some of your favorite characters penned by Jamie that are not in the Maddox family tree – of course. My favorite is Hazel – spunky little things she is!

O

O is for Oblivion. More to the point, its definition: the state of being unaware or unconscious of what is happening.
When you've read the book, think about that definition a little and wait for the moment where you realize why it's important. It will be life changing. Not kidding.

N

The last N stands for No-freaking-way-in-hell-am-I-going-to-be-capable-of-waiting-for-the-next-book-in-the-Maddox-Brothers-series-to-come-out-it-doesn't-even-have-a-name-let-alone-a-possible-release-date-yet-I'm-not-good-at-waiting-people!!!

  3. Amazing review! I can't wait for this book and the more I think about it, the more I'm wondering if Trent could win me over even more than Travis. It's going to be tough, but maybe! I'm in dire need of a Jamie McGuire's book fix! ;)
