This investigation is getting very personal...
P.I.-in-training Valerie LeRoy is dying to get into the field. So when a client asks her to spy on someone, the thrill of her own case is too tempting to refuse. Instead of a cheating fiance, however, Val's actually checking out P.I. Drake Morgan! Worse, she ends up working with the guy!
Their differing opinions on techniques, and the instant attraction, make the sparks fly. It's almost impossible to focus on their arson investigation. As the hunt for the truth intensifies and their passion rivals the triple-digit temperature, she and Drake learn why Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps...

Confession: This was my first Harlequin novel. I will admit I was a little worried about weather or not I would enjoy it simple because of that. Let’s be honest here, I’ve practically made a living out of reading Young Adult books. While I dangle my feet in the water of Romance novels and Fiction, YA has been the steady bread and butter around here. I am beyond pleased to report that not only did I enjoy Sleepless In Las Vegas, I loved it! Flat out loved it. Give me more!

I don’t remember the last time I read such a well written, well balanced, and beautifully constructed novel. To be perfectly honest with you, as an aspiring writer myself, my mind is still reeling at how author Colleen Collins melded so many lives and instances together in such a way that you never felt lost, overwhelmed or bored of too much detail and description.

The masterfully created, so true to life relationship and friendship between Val and Drake feels like it could have been ripped right from your own life. Each emotion perfectly placed. Every confession, uncertainty, and desire woven in effortlessly. You heart will pound, your toes will curl and your stomach will drop. I can’t promise you won’t cry a bit near the end – I did, because every good romance novel should have a little of that in there.

Sleepless In Las Vegas is packed with the all action of a good cop show! Which I happen to be obsessed with. Val and Drake are Private Investigators in Las Vegas trying to take down the low life who torched Drakes house, while also getting back a precious family heirloom at the same time. It’s not far fetched or too James Bond, I promise – I keep saying it, but it’s all so balanced perfectly! I’m not kidding it’s the only word I can even process right now after having finished it. I want to just spew words at you telling you all about, a giant diamond ring, twins, dumpster diving, awesome southern phrases I will likely use tomorrow and not sound nearly as cool as Val, Burlesque dancers, strip clubs, Frank Sinatra, Parking lots and bathrooms – oh god…parking lots and bathrooms! Meatloaf, mean cats, fires and mentors. See I sound like a raving lunatic, right? This is why writing a review for a book I really loved is harder than any other review I write. I just sound like a manic fan girl, talking a mile a minute

I’ll wrap this up – Basically:

Put aside any misconceptions you might have about picking up a Harlequin novel. If you need a little shove into it, start with Sleepless In Las Vegas and let Colleen Collins show you what real romance is all about and how a book should be written. My only gripe about this novel is, it’s a stand alone. I honestly can’t find anything wrong with it.

Thank you Colleen Collins, for being my first….Harlequin novel that is. I hate to break it to you, but I don’t think you’ll be my last. *wink*
