Rebelling against her legacy as the MC's princess, Tru Tennyson escaped the ruthless, male-dominated culture of the Defiance motorcycle club. Three years later, her newfound freedom is ripped away, thanks to a massive hybrid storm that killed millions. Now, in the post-Chaos world of semi-darkness and near-total anarchy where gangs rule, she discovers the dangerous world of Defiance may be the one thing that can keep her safe.
Tru is at the MC's mercy when she's dragged back to her former home … and to the only man she's ever pictured a future with. Caspar is the bastard son of the club's leader, her safe haven when life got rough — and her onetime lover the night she left. When Tru refuses to trade sex for power and be claimed by a rival club leader, she also dares to announce she wants Caspar instead, throwing the MC into turmoil.
Tru's brazen revolt could start a gang war and destroy the club from within. Now both Tru and the MC must wait for Caspar's response … and the inevitable fallout.

Ok I’ll admit it I really wasn’t too sure when I started this book I mean there were a lot of motorcycle references and well I’ve never even ridden one. I will say though that I am happy I read the entire book because I enjoyed it and the message that went along.

Stephanie takes this entire culture and sets it in a post-apocalyptic disaster world and made it work. There are references to drugs, violence, sex and abuse in DEFIANCE but it doesn’t detract from the story. This is a hard culture and Tru wanting to escape and Caspar wanting to preserve the original legacy of the founders makes for intriguing reading. The background of both of these characters is pulled out the entire length of the book a little more each page turn.

If there is a problem with DEFIANCE is that is seems like sex can fix all of the problems in the relationship. I mean there are some issues that Caspar and Tru have to get through and it always ends up with them in bed or wherever else they happen to be. This isn’t a huge turnoff since it is in the New Adult genre but I guess more annoying and wishing my arguments ended like that. Lol.

To anyone reading this I say keep at it and give it a chance the ending is really pretty good. If however you are on the fence about even starting it you can find the first chapter here and judge for yourself.
