For 17-year-old Emma Wong, spending a summer in England should be a dream come true. Gorgeous scenery? Check. Lots of hot guys with accents? Yes, please.

Throw in an estranged mom, annoying new stepdad, and drooling baby half-brother, and it’s a disaster even her favorite cherry red leather jacket can’t fix. Even worse, there’s (hot) live-in research assistant Josh to contend with. The only thing more embarrassing than drunk-kissing him hours after they meet? Knowing he’ll be witness to her family’s dysfunction all. summer. long.

But when Emma meets a mysterious girl who happens to be a Druid, her vacation suddenly promises to be far more intriguing than she anticipated. Powerful rituals, new friends, an intoxicating sense of freedom...and Simon, the sexy foreign stranger she was hoping for. It’s all a perfect distraction from dirty diapers and awkward family dinners.

The main character Emma gets to travel to England! Who would be excited to do that!!? Sadly Emma would much rather stay home than to go to England with her mother, step-dad and half new brother. She ends up at the home in England as she finds out that her step dad has an assistant named Josh staying with them. She was so not happy about this. When she gets a tour of the house, she is excited for it but then disappointment hits.

She is a teenager! So her emotions are up and down which is pretty normal for a teen. I loved how Emma can take care of herself most of the time. Since Emma is already a bit upset at her mom and sometimes feels like she is always on baby duty, she learns something new of her family which shocks her big time! I was shocked myself in learning what she had learned. I'd be a bit upset like Emma too if I found out what she had. I could feel Emma's moods in this process and felt like I was right there with her. This even made Emma more angry at her mom. She tries to deal with it but ends up hanging out with a group that is fascinated with druid mysticism.

The Druid rituals make Emma free as she does not feel so stressed out anymore. She starts to hang out with some others that are interested in the Druid mysticism a bit more. Simon is in the group as well. She is fascinated by him. Things seem great until it takes a twist! During this time, Emma learns something about herself! I love the twist in this and I did not see it coming at all. It kept me on my toes!

Emma does think that Josh is kind of cute, but Simon seems to steal the show. Which will Emma go for in the long run? Both boys are different and unique. Simon has the accent and Josh has the all American boy in him. I am rooting for Josh for a number of reasons. You'll have to read to know why I would root for him.

Love this book! It's a sweet little gem and I am glad that I got to read it! If you are looking for a story that is fun and quick, then I would recommend this book. You will want to know what happens to Emma in the matters of boys, family and adventure!
