Ashton Summers is on her way to becoming the most popular girl in school and nothing—or no one—is going to stand in her way. Especially not Luca Byron, her freak neighbor, with his tattoos, loud music, and distracting green eyes.

Luca Byron has three goals in life: get through high school with a low profile, make sure his garage band becomes something more than a hobby, and try to forget about his insufferable ex-best friend, Ashton, who he can’t get out of his mind.

The last thing Ashton and Luca want to do is rekindle their friendship, but when Ashton takes a tumble down the social ladder, Luca—with his new makeover—is the only one who can help her rise up again by pretending to be her boyfriend. At first, being together is unbearable and annoying, but things start to change as Ashton and Luca discover the real reasons they drifted apart seven years ago.

Now, keeping their hands off each other seems impossible.

Can I say the cover is stunning!  It really caught my eye and I'm so glad I read this book. I could not put it down. I wanted to read it all in one day..almost did! It was more like a day and half to read it.

Ashton and Luca grew up together and were inseparable!  Until one day something major happened which caused Ashston and Luca drift apart.  I'm not giving away the whole plot of the book because it's sooo good!  Anyways, the two of them are so different then how they used to be.Luca is considered a freak due to high school standards. His appearance having his hair dyed black and wears rocker clothes along with a  tattoo, puts him in that freak category.    Ashton is the opposite side of Luca, who's a cheerleader and is all for the popular crowd.

Until one day Ashston's social life goes downhill, she and Luca connect.  Will this connection be true to what it was back in the day or is it just a game?   Ashton sees Luca as her ticket to get back to the her normal status, but Luca sees something more in Ashton. I think in a way he hopes Ashton would go back to her sweet self than being such a stuck up cheerleader.

Who wouldn't want to have a great neighbor like Luca who plays the guitar and has a rock band?  I wish I had a neighbor like that back in the day when I was  teen to crush on.   Luca is a great guy and just because he changed his appearance and all, it was his way of dealing with something major.  Everyone deals differently.   He does have his lovable moments along with "what are you thinking' moments with himself and Ashton.

Ashton ran me hot and cold.  I could not figure her out.  At first I did not like her at all the way she was acting towards people and such.  When her status went downhill, I kind of felt sorry for her in a way.  Did she realize what was going on? Yes in a way she did, but it took her a long time to realize it, I think.

This book was written from both perspectives of Ashton and Luca which made the book go by fast.  It was great to read what the characters were both thinking and feeling bouncing off of each other. One moment it's hot and then the next it's cold, great way to show opposites attract.  The question remains, does Luca and Ashton drive each other nuts or drive each other to love?

It was easy to read and the writing was written very nice in my opinion.   I'd say this book would be for 17 and up in age since some profanity and sex is mentioned.   There were some great amazing scenes in this book, Komal did a great job!  I look forward to more of these series.
