Kismet Knight, a brainy Denver-based psychologist with a stalled career and a nonexistent love life, is about to have her world rocked. Not only does her newest patient, Midnight, long to become a vampire, but the teenager insists that a coven of the undead hangs out at a local goth club. The always-rational Kismet dismisses Midnight's claims as the delusions of an attention-starved girl--until bodies start turning up drained of blood and the hottest self-proclaimed vampire ever to walk the face of the earth enters her office.

What's real? What's not? As inexplicable events and romantic opportunities pile up, along with the corpses, Kismet finds herself in a whirlwind of passion, mystery, and danger.

This book was a quick read that kept me on the edge of my seat!  The dialogue was amazing considering it's mostly Kismet's thoughts on certain things at times which I liked.  It was nice to know what Kismet was thinking.  The action in the book is fast paced.  It will keep you guessing at times of what will happen with Kismet and the journey she goes on.  If you like action, drama, romance, vampires and supernatural, then this book is for you!

Kismet is such a great character who ends up in a world of vampires.  At first she is not sure what to believe considering she's a psychologist and wants them to be normal.  It took her quite a while to realize that vampires were real.  I loved seeing this process in the book.  I seriously think I would react the same way as she did.   The book spends a great deal on the main character Kismet who also possesses a gift which I found interesting to learn about but does not go into that much detail.   Kismet has an immediate attraction to Deveraux, who's the hot sexy vampire!  She also has an attraction to another guy who's an agent name Alan Stevens who is aware of the supernatural beings about.   I keep rooting for Deveraux.

Devereux is a sexy Norse vampire god who is 800 years old and the way the author describes him sounds quite yummy.  He immediately is attracted to Kismet and yet there's a reason why which I loved.  He is very protective of Kismet which I also found to be interesting as well.  He owns a place called 'The Crypt.'  He's a type of guy who keeps his family happy, healthy, safe and close.  Just a vampire guy who's in charge of things.  Quite a lovely trait!

Of course there are the bad guys in this book who are evil, crazy and a bit  psychotic! There were a few creepy scenes in the book that weren't my favorite.  Bryce is the bad guy! I would so not want to meet him. He wants Devereux's job and finds Kismet to use as lever.  Will Devereux be able to protect Kismet from Bryce?  Or will it be Alan?

It's a great story and a stunning cover.  The story does leave you with a few questions which I think will be answered in the next book.  There is some sexual tension mentioned in this story as well.
