Your strength in heart and hand will fall. . . .
Ellie knows that the darkest moments are still to come, and she has everything to fight for:
She must fight for Will.
The demonic have resorted to their cruelest weapons to put Will in mortal danger, and Ellie makes an unlikely alliance to save him and to stop Lilith and Sammael, who seek to drown the world in blood and tear a hole into Heaven.
     She must fight for humanity.
As the armies of Hell rise and gather for the looming End of Days, Ellie and her band of allies travel to the world’s darkest and most ancient regions in her quest to come into her full glory as the archangel Gabriel.
     And Ellie must save herself.
Her humanity withers beneath the weight of her cold archangel power, but Ellie must hold tight to who she is and who she loves as she prepares for the ultimate battle for Heaven and Earth.
In this final installment in the Angelfire trilogy, Courtney Allison Moulton brings her dark world of epic battles and blistering romance to a blazing bright conclusion

When I reviewed Wings of The Wicked, the second book in the Angelfire series. I made an open plea to Michael Bay via the review to turn the series into movies. It was the first time I ever did that in a review. For my review of Shadows in the Silence, the final book in the series *clings*, I will do something else I’ve never done before in a review. What can I saw, Courtney brings out the unconventional reviewer in me….

Dear Courtney Alison Moulton,

Thank you.

As a mother of 2 young girls, and having been a young girl myself at one point, (much to the disbelief of at least one of the previously mentioned girls) I want to whole heartedly thank you for writing such a strong female lead in Ellie.

I think it’s fair to say that Young Adult Lit isn’t overflowing with the kind of girls one might want their kids to aspire to be. And, ok maybe I don’t really want my kids to aspire to be an Archangel, I mean how disappointing is that going to be on career day? Annnnd maybe we don’t read books to find a role models, but more to just escape, but it’s still so refreshing to see a female written with physical strength, integrity, and drive, who get’s to be the hero in so many different ways.

I think one of the things I love the most is that Ellie never get’s half way through a fight and hands things over to be finished by a “more prepared male character”. This happens more than I think we even all realize. Very infrequently is the girl allowed to be the total 100% hero and totally kick ass throughout the whole of a series. And let me tell you, Ellie. Kicks. Ass.

So Courtney my dear, I think that I may have written that plea to the wrong person in the Wings of the Wicked review last year. Clearly I am reaching out to someone not equipped to handle Ellie and all of her archangel, and ass kicking, girl hero glory…so….maybe I should restart that letter from last year like this…

Dear Joss Whedon….

-----    -----     ------

Now for the rest of you, all looking for an actual review of this book. Eager for a tid bit, a morsel of anything I will throw to you for this highly anticipated conclusion to the Angelfire Series. What can I say, it’s so hard to review the final book in a series. It’s emotionally heavy, so much comes to an end. But then again so much finds its beginning.

What I will tell you is this. The wait for the book is worth it. Courtney will not disappoint with a watered down, forced feeling finale. You will laugh, a lot. You will cry, a lot. When you close the book you will mourn for losses and cheer for the victories and you will be 100% satisfied.

I can’t wait to see what Miss Moulton has up her sleeve for her next book.
