For William, life was as wicked and malicious as the beast he was trying destroy. Decades spent living a life of extravagance, domination and ravenous hunger haunted him. But when you live forever, the past never stays buried. And that which wishes to control you, will never let you go. William thought he found his escape, his one and only love, but the thing he fears the most could be the only thing that saves them. Or, it could doom them all.

This lovely story consist of 100 pages but packs quite a punch!   There's a vampire aspect to the story along with the questions that we all think about time to time "What's the meaning of life?"  "Why are were here?"   Bare in mind with these questions, William is trying to figure these questions for his existence. Of course he has issues that he deals with all the time but they're a bit more than normal issues.   The whole story is from William's point of view.  I loved reading from his perspective.  It allows you to understand William more.

William works at a Senior Living place I believe. He does  a wonderful job there but after  losing a good friend of his, he begins to think it's time to move on to another place.   As his mind is dealing with the loss of his friend, Autumn pops into his life.  The way he meets her is quite fascinating!   I love how William and Autumn are honest with each other up to a point.  Both of them are hiding something.   Will William tell Autumn what he is? Will Autumn tell her secret to him?  Will they find a happy ending?

Another thing I want to point out is that William's kind believes that he is a disgrace and should embrace what he is to the T.  William is aware of this and rebels a bit against the rules of his true nature.  Will he win out on this?  You got to read to find out.

This author does a great job in capturing emotions; the sadness, the anger, and a bit of love.  Of course drama and paranormal are thrown into the story as well.   You can literally feel it all when reading this book. This take on vampires is quite a lovely find.  I'm glad I got to read this story and will be on the look out for more of Megan Duncan!
