It’s that time of year friends. The time when thousands of writers come together to do what should be the unthinkable: Write 50,000 words in 30 days. It’s National Novel Writing Month!
This year I intend to participate 100%. Last year I signed up, wrote about 45 words than I let life take over. This year, fueled by hope, coffee and more than likely some anti-psychotics I am in it to win it.
I’ve cleared time every day to write, sometimes 2 times a day – I know it’s not ideal for a writer to have to scheduled writing time, but with 2 busy kids, a husband who apparently likes a clean house (and wife) from time to time and all three of those people also needing food (high maintenance much?!), scheduling is the only way this is going to go down.
I have decided that for this month the blog is the bottom of my list of things to do. in stead of my first. So, if things seem sparse here, if there’s more promo posts than reviews….I apologize but really…deal with it *wink*. I’m fighting for my time to be featured on a blog as an author! And I know you all support this 100%!!!
Want to keep track of how I’m doing on my word court? I’ll put a tracker in the side bar. Want to keep my going? Send me motivational tweets, jokes, funny pictures to @MyShelfAndI.
Now, I’m not alone here in this NoNo fight – my blogger Ashley is also participating! So I expect some love for her too! Tweet her as well! @abgaffod. Comment to us here, send threatening letters to force up to keep going! We don’t care!!!
At the end of this month we will both have first drafts of manuscripts in serious need of editing! It’s a bit funny we fight so hard to reach a point where we will only be doing more work…lol.
Alright Ashley – here we go!!! Let’s NaNo!
