Katia’s done running. She’s fought fiercely to protect her identity, her secrets, and those she loves most. And while it hasn’t been easy, she’s finally making peace with the past. Katia’s even looking forward to the start of a new school year at Crossroads Academy.

Too bad things at Crossroads are going to be a little different this fall. There are new rules, new students, and new relationships. Katia quickly discovers that navigating the halls of Crossroads is as complicated as ever.

When a friend’s life is at stake, Katia will be forced to choose between the safety of Crossroads and an enemy more dangerous than any she’s ever faced. Will Katia have the courage to risk it all -including her life- for a friend?

This is a great series. The first one rocked my world and now this second one: RED DAWN has captured my attention as well.  The story picks up after the summer was over with Katia heading back at Crossroads.   Katia  begins to think of how things would be while being back at Crossroads. Would her secret be told or not? Would she still have friends?  What about her and Nic?   At first things are almost back to normal until her friend's life is in stake.

Another adventure for Katia to go on as Nic tags along.  I love how she is ready to go and find everything out there is in order to save her friend, Shayne.  Of course there are a few rules that Katia breaks but manages to get by even with out the help of her Uncle Aldo.  I love how she's a bit rebellious at times in order to save someone.  She holds power which I love and is the type of gal who wants to get right to the point.  There's some great scenes during the action part of the book.

A few other supernatural elements pop up and made me wonder where was this story going to and how would it end?  Some of the supernatural elements suprised me as well. I loved it.  Will Katia get what she needs for her friend? Will she learn dark deadly secrets?  The whole story keeps you wondering of what will happen next.   It was a fast pace book for myself.

The relationship between Nic and Katia seem to slip in their comfortable zone of sarcastic remarks and passion. I love this.  They are so suited for each other. It kept me on my toes on how these two would be.  Of course there's a few bits of jealousy sparks here and there but that seemed pretty normal.   They also work so well together and will it last?    Other than the relationship of Nic and Katia, there's Shayne and the guy from the stable

All the parts in this quick action book leads up to a bigger picture and  literally leaves you hanging for the next book!  I am so looking forward to the next book and want to know what's next for Katia.  Will darker secrets be explored?  Will Aldo get involved? What will happen with Katia and Nic?
