{Top Ten Tuesday} 31

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. It was created because of their love of lists, and I myself love lists as well - so you will see it frequently popping up on MMSAI, although admittedly we have not done them in a while – let me tell you, we are happy to be back at it!

Everyone is welcome to join in, and don't worry if you can't think of 10 - just do as many as you can. And of course, be sure to link back to TBATB (and leave me a link here too!) on your post!
As always they are in no particular order.

This Weeks Topic is:
Top Ten Bookish Confessions

(Anything! You dog ear, you hated a book  but said you loved it, you have $500 library fines...anything goes!)

1. My Copy of CITY OF BONES (The Mortal Instruments #1) is sticky tabbed,256683 (1) highlighted, bookmarked and beat. It’s not my favorite book of all time or anything I just had a really kick ass book club meeting based off the books and needed to take lot’s of notes. We played Mortal Instrument Jeopardy!!

2. I have late fees *bites nails* Somewhere on a shelf in my kids closet are a few picture books that belong to a library no more than 10 minutes from me. They have been here for…hmmm…3-4 years. OMG I know, right!? The stupid thing is I am pretty sure they can go back to my local branch but I always forget and the only reason I thought of it now was because of the description of this TTT!

3. I don’t understand the people at my library. Seriously, I rarely get a smile off them and they act like they are being held there at gun point. Even if I was paid shitty to work there, how could you be unhappy in a library all day!?

4. My books are organized. One bookshelf is all autographed copies and the rest are on another. This gets tricky when I have a few or one from a series signed but not the others…OCD kicks in….because the series HAVE to be together…51pDtklKd4L._SL500_AA300_.

5. I’m Desperately seeking a book. Okay we all are, but this one isn’t in print anymore. It’s about Jackson Rathbone and his band that doesn’t exists anymore….it’s called NO SLEEP and I knew I should have ordered it when it was available…*sad sigh*

6. It literally makes me depressed to think, even if I wanted to I could never read all the books I wanted to in my lifetime.

7. I would LOVE to own an Indie Bookstore and Coffee Shop.

8. I got in trouble in high school for reading The Notebook during English class. The book was just out in paperback (yea, I’m old) and I couldn't put it down. Of course I was that student who said to my teacher “It’s English class…I’m reading?”

9. I just recently found out that a book I loved in Elementary school is a19469 series! I LOVED the book The Face On The Milk Carton, read it dozens of times in 6th grade and on. Not more than a month or so back I was at B&N and saw it’s a full series! 4 books in all. I need to read the rest of them!!

10. Credited for my love of reading will always be the following: The Baby Sitters Club, which I devoured all 150+ books as a child. The Notebook for the real love story and Twilight for reminding me why I loved to read after years of not touching a book at all.

What’s your TTT this week? Link me to it in the comments so I can stop by too!

  1. Great list. We've had four different librarians at my library. At least two of them were like you described. Never smiled and were kinda rude. The new one though she seems nice.

  2. Great list! I agree with number 6 all the way >.< I try not to think too much about it though because it depresses me. I've had situations like number 9 happen too! The Stravaganza books are one such example for me - I thought there were only 3 of them.

    Here are my Top Ten.

  3. OMG the people at my library are like that too!!! THEY SUCK. I am like, I COULD DO YOUR JOB SO MUCH BETTER!!!

  4. So... I'm right there with you on most of those. I haven't yet read the entire Mortal Instruments series, but City of Bones... is highlighted an bookmarked to death. Basically, I the Kindle copy is like completely yellow. I paid off my $50 library fine back in June... =S oops. True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle & Walk Two Moons... those are the books I've been attempting to find. They were popular, so I don't get it. That thought depresses me as well, my TBR list on Goodreads is crazy huge an its a crime or tragedy that I will never get to read them all. My books are organized the same way... I also organized my daughters. She hates it. I constantly fix them because she just throws them on there and fix mine because she finds it hilarious to move them around and that I noticed within minutes of her doing this. I don't have the signed copies though *sighs* and lately I either by the kindle copy or check it out of the library. Limited space at home and my husband gets aggrivated with me because I'm so picky about my books and suck at cleaning lol. I wanted an Indie bookstore, but I also wanted to offer used books & a few of the big name books too... I wanted to do it right out high school. My parents both owned small businesses, so I was like why not... then The Book Rack opened two locations. I refused to go in for YEARS just because my idea was gone. I went in guess what... they're not Indie! Just buy and sell your old books and new... I'm back to maybe *grins like an idiot*. My H.S. English teachers (ok and most of my college ones too) hated me... all but my fresman English teacher (all because I wasn't shy about my love of the classics and my grammer). I got caught reading a bunch and always promptly made that same argument and my sophomore & junior year teacher... well the arguements were heated! Her grammer sucked and she's get ticked when I corrected it & I wasn't allowed to read... she never gave my books back... except for what she gave me & my research paper... she gave me a D. I contested it... and ended up with a B. We didn't like each other. And your #10... is an exact for me. I belonged to that club & had all the babysitter's club books. I also did the Harry Potter craze, but thanks to that horrile teacher... I lost my love for reading. And then Twilight made me find my love for reading all over again...
Love your post! And sorry for the crazy long comment, but most of my friends & family think my book craze is dumb. I love knowing other people understand, lol! Again, great post!

  5. Clearly your city of CoB is well loved! :)
    Here’s my TTT

  6. I would love to own a indie book store too! I day dream of what it would be like constantly!

  7. I got in trouble for reading during class before too although the classes I was caught reading in were math and french so I didn't really have the it's english class excuse although I have read during english classes.

  8. I love that you got in trouble for reading in your English class. :) Good luck finding your book!

  9. I didn't know The Face on the Milk Carton was a series!!! Also, I am sad that 100 Monkeys is no longer a band. Sigh. I got in trouble for reading in study hall once. The proctor thought that I should be doing textbook homework rather than reading a novel that wasn't taught in school.

  10. I love your last points - credits to the books that were important at different phases of your life :-)
