We all want to be remembered. Charlotte's destiny is to be Forgotten...

Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.

But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend's arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become--her mark on this earth, her very existence--is in jeopardy of disappearing completely.

Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny--no matter how dark the consequences.

My Review:

I was not sure what I was expecting when I read this book.  Although I must say the cover of the book is stunning!  As I began to read to read page by page, getting into the story of Charlotte, it made me want to read more!

The summary of the book  made me think that many events  had to happen for Charlotte.  Pushing further into the book,  emotions poured out from  on the matters of  what Charlotte was. Shock, grief, sadness, denial just curled up inside of Charlotte when she found out what she was - A Forgotten - a type of angel.  Charlotte questions her life and her role after she finds out what she is.  Who would be swirling around in these emotions when you find out that you think you know who you are and you are not!   I know I would be in those emotions.

This spin on angels was different and I liked it.

As Charlotte deals with the fact she's different and those "Needs", she keeps it all hidden from her family and friends because she didn't want to be categorized crazy.  This had to be tough to do emotionally and mentally.   Her "Needs"  has her go help others who are mostly strangers. The need is an important part to Charlotte and to the story.  I love how Charlotte helps others and yet the situations she gets in are a bit climatic.  I love how when Charlotte's needs strike out of the blue.   The needs gives a sense of relief  to those who are struggling with major decisions.

Of course there is love in this book between Charlotte and Harlin!  Charlotte is completely head over heels for Harlin as he is to her. I love how these two just click together nicely.  Harlin also tries to help Charlotte in whatever she has going on. He's a guy who is sweet, caring and great looking.  Harlin also gives off the vibe of being a tough guy but inside he's all gooey and sweet.  The question remains: does Charlotte tell Harlin what she is?   This has to be a scary thought for Charlotte to share with Harlin. What if he thought she was crazy or so forth?   The love between Charlotte and Harlin is pretty amazing.

Charlotte wrestles with the fact whether or not she wants to be a Forgotten.  She has a strong desire to stay on Earth!  She gets approached by someone who used to be like her and offers her a choice to stay on Earth.  Charlotte wonders if this is a good or bad thing. She goes through a journey about this offer that was given to her.  Would she take the path of being a Forgotten or stay on Earth?

So go pick up this book today and read it.  I know I won't forget reading this book since it was just an amazing story and the intense love that Harlin and Charlotte had.  It left me wanting for more!
