The carefree trip turned journey of self-discovery quickly becomes more than Jane bargained for, especially when the devilishly handsome Max steps into the picture.
The moment I got this book in the mail, I fell in love the cover of this book. Why did I fall in love with the cover? The reason why is because it was blue and the tornado trapped in a jar was so cool. It let my imagination run wild of what the story could be. I showed it to my husband and he said it reminded him of an episode of Futurama where they had a tornado trapped in a jar. I chuckled and then began to read while sitting on my couch.
This story caught my attention immediately due to the fact of what Jane goes through. She ends up chasing tornadoes for the summer with her brother and the group of chasers that her brother is with. It's a fast paced book.
As Jane chases tornadoes, she is also on a journey which makes her think about her life with her mother. Everyone aka her brother - Ethan, best friend and even Max seems to have an opinion on what Jane should do regarding to the matter. Jane does not want to hear everyone's opinion. She gives off the impression that things will be fine and does not want to deal with the problem. Time goes by while while she is chasing tornadoes and helping others, she realizes of a few things. Some of the things she realizes are good and bad. At the end of the story, what is it that Jane realizes? What tough choice does Jane make? I believe the choice Jane makes allows her to grow up and do what's best for her. You so have to read this book to find out.
The relationship Jane has with her brother is up and down. Ethan is a great character in this book. He's a character who is stable, smart and knows what where he is going. He wants the best for Jane and to help her. Ethan knew how Jane's relationship with their mother could be and felt bad about that situation. That was one of the reasons why he left home due to their mother's situation. He kept trying to explain to Jane his view on this topic. As I mentioned up above, Jane did not want to hear it.
Jane's relationship with the new guy - Max is interesting. At first she does not tell him the dealings that she has with her mother. In time she does tell him and he tries to be there for her. The guy is pretty cool and has a big heart too even though he's on the rival tornado chasing team. Romance sparks between the two.
It is interesting to see the relationships in this book Jane and her brother, Jane with her mother, Jane and Max, Vincent and his brother Stephen, Max relationship with the rival tornado chasers while he's an intern, Jane and Vincent…lots of things to see and how people interact! Such an amazing thing to see.
So pick up this book today and fall in the learning chaos!
