American teenager Gabi Betarrini accidently finds herself in sixteenth-century Italy . . . Knights. Swords. Horses. Armor. And Italian hotties. Most American teens want an Italian vacation, but the Betarrini sisters have spent every summer of their lives there with their archaeologist parents. Stuck on yet another hot, dusty dig, they are bored out of their minds... until they place their hands atop handprints in an ancient tomb and find themselves catapulted into the sixteenth-century—and in the middle of a fierce battle between knights bent on killing one another.

The cover of this stunning book caught my eye at the bookstore as I decided to wait a bit before I purchased it but ended up getting a PDF file through being a blogger at MMSAI which was originally from the author herself!  That was totally amazing.  Anyways, this book is spoken from Gabi's perspective as it swirled in adventure, fighting, humor, suspense, mystery, romance and family.

I've always enjoyed time traveling stories as this one held my interest the entire time.  It was journey to be with Gabi (Gabriella) in finding her sister.   I love how Gabriella immediately adjusted herself to being back in time with her head on her shoulders. I believed Gabriella is strong and fearless when she needed to be along with being gentle and compassionate.   Even her ability to yield a sword came in handy which I thought was a nice touch as well!   She took danger head on and kept her wits about her as she searched for her sister.

Lia (Evangelina) seemed to be a bit similar to her sister but also naive.  She grew up overnight as well as her sister, Gabi did.  She used her archery skills with perfection which was awesome.

Of course, romance is mentioned in this book but I'm not telling who. You need to go get this book to read.  It did leave me in wanting the romance to blossom completelyI love how the author added this in the book along with putting amazing details of the lifestyle and language of that time.  It made you feel like you were there.

The ending leaves you in question of what will happen next with Gabriella and Evangelina?  Will they go back in time again? Will they tell their mother what had happened?  Will someone else find out about this secret?  Will the true love happen?   Did history change?   I can't wait to read the next book!
