In Cascade, the second book in the River of Time Series, Gabi knows she’s left her heart in the fourteenth century and she persuades Lia to help her to return, even though they know doing so will risk their very lives. When they arrive, weeks have passed and all of Siena longs to celebrate the heroines who turned the tide in the battle against Florence—while the Florentines will go to great lengths to see them dead.

My Review:

Once again the author did a fantastic job on this second book!  The stakes were even higher from the first book!  This time Gabi and Lia head back in time but bringing their mother with them!  Boy, their mother was in for a surprise but oddly she fits in just like her daughters did.  Once again more action and romance crumbles through the book never stopping a beat.  There is so much going on that I do not want to give it all away.  Some main points that happen in this book are:  the war, the plague, marriage and choice of to stay in the past or go back to the present.  All these points will be seen through out the book as the characters tackle them as they come.

Marcello and Luca!  What more can I say? I love them both and how they interact so well with Gabi and Lia.  This book did include Luca and Lia more which I loved.  I loved how Lia was shooting her arrows and kicking butt just like her sister, Gabi does!  Luca has the cute humor about him as Marcello is serious and swoon worthy.  Then Lord Greco appears in this book who caught my attention and made me wonder about this character. I hope he appears again in the next book.

There's one thing towards the end of the book that totally caught me by surprise regarding to Gabi and Lia's father.  I submerged myself into that part of the book a great deal and was left with a cliffhanger!  So now my desire to read the third book is ready.

While I was reading this book, every moment I put the book down,my brain wanted to know what was going to happen next.  So any free moment I had, this book was in my hands.  The third book is what I'm going to read next.  I cannot wait to see what adventures Gabi and Lia go on next.  Questions swirling in my head of: Will they go back in the past again or remain in the present?  Will marriage take place?  What about the war?  Did the plague come?

  2. Great review!
I'm reading this now, and totally agree with you, the story goes more complicated and it's really awesome I can't help but think more about it. And I more fall deeper to Marcello and Luca, they're so fine gentlemen and swoon worthy!
