Let the fowl play begin!  Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment presents the story of a competitive trio who quickly turn a simple quest into the ultimate competition when THE BIG YEAR spreads its wings on Blu-ray and DVD January 31.
Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson portray three men from very different walks of life, facing a mid-life crisis, a work-life crisis and a no-life crisis.  In the biggest competition of their lives, they undertake an unforgettable trek through North America, engaging in hilarious and bizarre adventures and forming friendships that will last a lifetime!

Did you know the movie The Big Year is based off a novel written by Mark Obmascik called The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature, and Fowl Obsession. It’s a book can say I would have NEVER picked up. Aside from the fact it’s not YA, which is my genre of choice, it’s also about birding. WAIT – DON’T GO!!! I realize even you might be going…”okay Amber, why would I want to watch this then?”

Uh….STEVE MARTIN…JACK BLACK AND OWEN WILSON – any movie with these 3 comedy kings in it is bound to be hilarious, and IT IS!

These three stumble, fight and claw their way to complete a Big Year, which in the world of birding means to spot the most birds in a calendar year. It’s real, people do this and it’s a mean and tough event that takes money and a lot of understanding from your family! As these men make it from destination to destination trying to capture peeks at the hard-to-find birds, hilarity ensues! Cue Steve Martins character Stu getting sea sick, and Jack Blacks character trying to talk to woman, and being rather unsuccessful at it, might I add.

My husband and I loved The Big Year, how could we not with this cast? We’ve already got a list of people we have to tell you watch it! Pick up a copy on Jan 31st when the DVD and Blu-Rays hit the stores – OR – check back here on the 21st for a giveaway for a DVD copy!
