{Guest Post + Giveaway} Becca Ritchie

Today we welcome author Becca Ritchie to our blog as part of The {Teen} Book Scene tour for Wynter Chelsea: The Legacy.  We’d like to thank not only Becca for moderating the appearance of Trevor Wynter on our blog, but The {Teen} Book Scene for providing us with some amazing things for this tour.

We were fortunate enough to have Trevor Wynter come upon our blog and he decided to give us a Top Ten List for his favorite superheroes (not to say that he isn’t sort of one himself…)

Thanks for stopping by Trevor!

TREVOR WYNTER’S TOP TEN SUPERHEROES

The supernatural tale, Wynter Chelsea: The Legacy, has four young adults crammed into an Oldsmobile 442 in search for their missing parents across the United States. The ride turns out rough—not so much because of the pit stops where they encounter demons, creatures, and spirits—but because Trevor Wynter won’t shut up. The scrawny 18-year-old kid believes he’s in league with the best Wynters and Chelseas. Maybe there’s some truth to the matter. He’s never been injured, shoots blindfolded, sees the future in bits and pieces, and possesses a greater fighting talent than Amanda Chelsea’s older brother, Jack. And Trevor is always the first to supply a comic book reference. What are his favorite superheroes? I rank them below!

10. Cannonball (X-Men) – Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball basically flies by releasing a thermo chemical energy in large bursts. Besides his power, Trevor lists Guthrie as a favorite because he serves as a team leader for the B Squad of X-Men. Meaning Guthrie is in charge of the rowdy teenagers.

9. Emma Frost (X-Men) – Probably the most beautiful mutant, Frost flip-flops between the political Hellfire Club and the heroic X-Men. To date, she runs Professor Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters alongside boyfriend Cyclops. Frost has everything Trevor could want in a girl. She’s sexy, tough, and her body can turn into diamond.

8. X-Man (X-Men) – X-Man aka Nathan Grey is the progeny of Cyclops and Jean Grey. Besides being one of the strongest mutants ever, X-Man dedicated his life to helping others and serving the X-Men, a code that Trevor follows with the legacy.

7. Batman – He drives an awesome car. He lives in a mansion. He has a lair decked out with the latest and greatest weapons. Of course Batman is on the list. Why isn’t he higher? Because you have to be rich to possess all three. Trevor, sadly, is not, and his dreams are crushed by the notion.

6. Magneto (X-Men) – Trevor often references Magneto because of his ability to manipulate electromagnetic energy. Who cares if he’s part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants? He’s a villain Trevor loves to hate.

5. Captain America – Constantly pining over his lost comrade in The Avengers, Cap shows that superheroes have emotions too, not just for female loves.

4. Spider-Man – This lanky teenager becomes something extraordinary with a spider bite. Trevor always supports the little guy since he’s quite scrawny himself. Peter Parker allows the unassuming kids to dream of something better. Trevor certainly does.

3. Superman – Space alien? Check. Super strength? Check. Super senses? Check. Awesome? Check.

2. Rogue (X-Men) – X-Men provides a slew of cool powers. Discounting the fact that her ability makes her insane, Rogue can experience all other mutant powers by skin-to-skin contact.

1. Pyro (X-Men) – Pyro, a mutant who can manipulate fire, might be in the evil Brotherhood, but his power makes Trevor Wynter’s dream of burning down a building seem like a reality. Even though I personally have a hard time handling matches, I’d like to think having Pyro’s ability would help me hurdle that fear. Then maybe I could light a candle.

Thanks for having me, Melissa!

We’d also like to let you know that we are hosting a giveaway through The {Teen} Book Scene to win a copy of the book.  The contest is available to US residents only, and you need to leave a comment with your email to enter. Contest will close on December 9th so be quick!
