The world is changing. Once, Witch Song controlled everything from the winds to the shifting of the seasons--but not anymore. All the Witches are gone, taken captive by a traitor. All but Brusenna. As the echo of their songs fade, the traitor grows stronger. Now she is coming for Brusenna. Her guardian has sworn to protect her, but even he can't stop the Dark Witch. Somehow, Brusenna has to succeed where every other Witch has failed. Find the traitor. Fight her. Defeat her. Because if Brusenna doesn't, there won't be anything left to save.

My take: This is my new favorite witch book, hands down!  I mean, I love my series witch book, but holy amazingness!

Okay so I didn’t really get a whole lot from the synopsis except that a girl was in trouble and so were all these witches.  Little did I know what would truly entail throughout the book.  I was enamored from the first page and got so lost in it that I wished I was there.

Brusenna, or Senna as she’s come to be known in the book, is this meager little girl who’s so unknowing about basically everything surrounding her.  Her character grows so incredibly much throughout this book, and I got to see her go from being this know-nothing to knowing what her true destiny was and is all along.  The journey follows her over the course of more time then you’d think, and it’s striking to know what goes on.

Just when you think the big battle is going to happen, BAM something else happens and you’re like “wait a second, what?! How?”  But Amber did such a great job with a push and pull during the story that it was beyond words.

Many of the other characters, even if only given small parts in the story, are completely necessary.  Unlike many books where you get these insignificant people described in detail, Amber strays from it and gives you the cold hard facts of each.

I absolutely adored this book, and I liked that the cover wasn’t an actual real life model but more a cartoon rendition of a girl.  Fantastic, I loved it, I’d recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy/witches/paranormal…anything!
