The thrilling conclusion to #1 bestselling Shiver trilogy from Maggie Stievater

In Maggie Stiefvater's SHIVER, Grace and Sam found each other. In LINGER, they fought to be together. Now, in FOREVER, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in.

Forever is, as are all of Maggie’s novels, beautifully created, eloquently worded and filled with heart pounding romance and suspense. I feel ill equipped to even discuss this book based solely on the fact that I loved it so much.

In order to not spoil the book for anyone I am going to tell you about it while filling in with my experience reading it. With any book you have waited for, for what feels like forever, (God I make bad jokes) the experience of the read is just as important as the emotion you feel while immersed in it’s pages.

When the ARC arrived I was scared to touch it. I thought it might dissolve into a pile of dust, like some cruel joke played on me by the Book Gods. Once I dove in, I was drowning in red words and alternating POVs and was so thrilled with it all I read until my droopy eyes were watering from being forced open til wee hours of the night.

After a sufficient breakfast for the toddler the next day I dove back into the book, realizing reading with Curious George on the tv wasn’t helping. So I reluctantly put it away until nap time and then was feverishly back at it. Wouldn't you know, kiddo wakes up with like 40 pages left and at this point I can’t stop reading. Literally it wasn’t possible, dare I say criminal even had I tried.

I’m on the couch, crying (yes you will cry in this book) while my 2y/o crawls over me, honks my nose and yells “Da!” while pointing at pictures of her dad – but the word has meaning in the book which makes me cry harder, out of frustration and other things. No, to explain, in the book it’s being used as “Yes” in Russian, not Dad.

So I’m alternating wiping snot on my sleeve, flipping a giggling kid off my lap like a member of Cirque De Sole and turning pages until the very last word which came way, way to fast. My Toddler, who is now actually a little worried about her blubbering mother on the couch, clutching a book and rocking back and forth. Hey, I have no one I can talk to about this until July – it’s a curse I tell you – A CURSE!

Forever was an amazing end to a fantastic series I will forever hold as one of my favorite series of all time. Thank you Maggie for creating this world and sharing them with us. Now, if you’ll excuse me I feel the need to visit Duluth and Ely Minnesota….only a few hours from me you know ;0)

  4. I'm so excited for this book and glad you loved it!! Can't wait!

  5. I haven't read this series... *FAIL*

  6. SO JEALOUS!! I can't wait to read it, I have a question. Is there lots of Cole in it??...GAWD I love Cole!

  7. There is a significant amount of Cole, yes.

  8. Great review! I'm excited to read this one, but mostly jealous of anyone who already has it. :) I love (and hate) when a book is so good that the toddler starts to wonder if I'm ok. He's taken to "hiding" my books lately if I get too into them.
